Great Alaskan Lumberjack Show & Crab Feast

Start your tour at the Lumberjack Sports Arena, where all of Ketchikan would, once a year, celebrate their logging heritage at the annual Timber Carnival. Join in this celebration of a bygone era and experience first-hand a rip-roaring good time that is filled with quality entertainment for all ages.

The Lumberjack Show reflects upon Southeast Alaska’s rich logging history and comes to life with thrilling displays of strength and agility. See Alaska’s frontier lumberjacks battle British Columbia’s premier woodsmen in a no-holds-barred competition for the title “Bull of the Woods.” Your colorful host who delights the crowd with stories of lumberjack history and lore complements the action.

Meet the Jacks after the show for pictures, and then loosen your belt and grab your camera as you sightsee your way to the rustic yet elegant George Inlet Lodge for a meal featuring fresh Dungeness crab served with a romaine salad with homemade dressing, and a scrumptious cheesecake with blueberry topping for dessert to round out this hearty meal.   This feast tends to be a very robust gathering and has been called a “rowdy good time!” Your hosts lead you through a panorama of local tall tales, then demonstrate the easiest way to crack your crabs!

This historic building was once an old cannery bunkhouse located 90 miles away. Two local businessmen moved the bunkhouse to its the present location at the site of an old gold mine. There is no doubt that the pristine coastal setting and the friendly staff at the George Inlet Lodge will deliver an Alaskan experience that will not soon be forgotten. Last but not least, check out the gift shop for a special souvenir for your trip.
